Thinking about setting up a Named Fund?
You are interested in supporting people and making a change in Berkshire. You may want to give across a broad range of issues or perhaps there is something that really interests you such children or the elderly, those with a long term physical or mental illness, education and employment, crime or perhaps the environment? You may have thought about setting up your own charitable trust but are concerned about the legal and administrative burdens. Or with a smaller amount to invest you might want to ensure that your giving is as effective as possible. Either way, a Named Fund is a flexible vehicle where you.
The benefits:
- Set the strategy and remit of your Fund from the outset and monitor it through its lifetime
- Retain decision making on the groups and projects you support
- Take advantage of the expertise of the grant-making staff in researching and assessing suitable groups and projects; we will take away the administrative burden of the grant-making
- Get to see the impact of your donations with case studies and project visits
Types of Funds
Funds for the Future: Sustainable Impact funds create a long-term funding source for future generations. It is a donation that has a long lasting legacy for the community providing an annual income for grant making. Funds are professionally invested and managed to maximise the income which in turn maximises the grant giving ability of the fund over the long term.
Funds for Today: Immediate Impact funds allow individuals and companies to make an annual donation year on year, supporting the needs of the community in the here and now.
How does it work?
A Sustainable Named Fund can be set up with a minimum pledge of £25,000, which can be paid over a number of years or as a single donation through a major donation, a Gift of Shares, property, or a legacy. An Immediate Impact Fund can be set up with a minimum pledge of £10,000.
