The Hon. Mrs Bayliss JP, The Lord Lieutenant of The Royal County of Berkshire, and President of Berkshire Community Foundation, launched The Berkshire 100 Club on 15th April 2010, at HSBC Commercial Banking Centre, Green Park, Reading.
The Berkshire 100 Club is a vehicle for businesses to give effective, targeted support to local charities and community groups in Berkshire. The Berkshire 100 Club offers businesses an opportunity to support their local community, the efficient handling of unsolicited donation requests and to network with like minded organisations.
The Lord Lieutenant commented:
“Over the past few years, where the country has undergone a severe economic recession, there has been an increasing recognition of the need to support local communities. This has created a growing momentum in the Private and Voluntary sectors and initiatives such as The Berkshire 100 Club are driven by a genuine wish to help the less fortunate within our communities”.
Certificates were presented to Barrett Howe Ltd and McKay Securities Plc as founder members of The Berkshire 100 Club.
