Marathon Man

19.05.07

The current world record for the longest time a single individual can act as DJ and continuity announcer during a live radio broadcast is 125 hours!

Mike Russell - the DJ presenter at local radio Time 106Fm is going to help raise funds for local children - Berkshire Give A Child A Chance and wants to beat that record.

The Marathon will begin on Monday 14th May 2007 at 8am
and end on Saturday 19th May 2007 at 2pm.

Basically he will be "on air" continuously, with only short breaks when the music plays or news is read, or other interviewers speak.

Mike says - I’m really looking forward to getting started on the marathon broadcast.  We have made the announcement on Monday and the phones haven’t stopped ringing!
