On Thursday 22nd November, the Berkshire Community Foundation celebrated another 6 months of successful grant-making in support of many voluntary groups and individuals around the county. It was an inspiring occasion! A total of £407,067 worth of grants has been distributed during the last six months to 178 groups and 23 individuals. Representatives from voluntary groups talked about the difference these grants have made to their work in supporting local children, families and individuals.
On Thursday 22nd November, the Berkshire Community Foundation celebrated another 6 months of successful grant making in support of many voluntary groups and individuals around the county.
The event, which is held twice a year, was kindly hosted by Business Objects in Maidenhead and provided a unique opportunity for donors and grants recipients to meet and talk about the needs throughout the county of Berkshire as well as the best possible ways in which these problems can be addressed.

“Stimulating event”, “brilliant occasion”, “fantastic environment” were just some of the quotes we got from our guests during the night. Vice-President from Business Objects Chris Elsmore emphasised their focus on Corporate Social Responsibility and the Mayor of Windsor & Maidenhead Cllr Leo Walters stated: “It’s been fascinating being here tonight. It is illuminating what Berkshire Community Foundation does. I congratulate BCF and the trustees”. A member of the Give a Child a Chance Committee, Bianca Gallipoli, characterised the event as a “fantastic, exciting opportunity to see some real work in our local community” and Managing Director of Refer-On Ltd stated: “It has been a fantastic event. It’s amazing to see how many voluntary groups there are. Very moving seeing the children’s presentation and the impact the money has made to their lives”.
The event ended with a donor plaque presentation to the Vice President of Business Objects Chris Elsmore for their ongoing contribution and support.
