£20,000 bonus for Windsor and Maidenhead charities!
The race is on to give away £10,000 in matched funding to local charities and community groups. From 14th May, any donation made to Windsor and Maidenhead charities through Localgiving.com, the national website dedicated to supporting small, local charities, will receive matched funds from a pot worth £10,000, doubling the benefit to the community.
The Localgiving.com Berkshire Match Fund starts at 9am on 14th May and will continue until the full £10,000 is allocated to charities in Windsor and Maidenhead.
By making a donation to a local charity in Windsor and Maidenhead via Localgiving.com, donors can double their gift and the charity receives twice the support as Localgiving.com matches the amount. Gift Aid adds another 25%. Over 150 local Berkshire charities have already registered with Localgiving.com. Charities and community groups that are not registered are encouraged to become part of the initiative by contacting Berkshire Community Foundation.
Localgiving.com is the only website in the country that enables community organisations too small to register with the Charity Commission to benefit from an infrastructure that simplifies the giving process. With nearly 2,000 validated charities and community groups already registered online, Localgiving.com provides much needed (and appreciated!) support to small, local organisations across the country.
Registration is free for three months, and then costs just £6 a month. In return, charities can take advantage of online marketing and donation tools and become more easily accessible to donors through a postcode search.
