Fundraising Walk

What is the Berkshire Community Foundation?
Since 1985, the Berkshire Community Foundation (BCF) has been working with local voluntary groups that tackle need at the grassroots level in our local community, both now and in the future.

Community foundations exist to deliver philanthropic advice, expert grant making services, community leadership and to build endowment.

How can you get involved?

  1. You can choose to give direct to a local group through our pages on localgiving.com
  2. You can give to one of our funds tackling specific areas of need for Berkshire
  3. You can work with our philanthropy practice to help you get the best from your giving in Berkshire

Who does it benefit?
Our main grant making is directed to:

  • The elderly

  • Children and young people

  • People with a long-term illness or disability, and their carers

  • People with mental health needs

  • Minority ethnic communities

  • Those suffering from addiction

The Foundation aims to support the smaller groups who are doing vital work but who have real difficulties in raising funds.

Benefits to donors
The Foundation is committed to making giving as easy, quick and tax efficient as possible. Monitoring and evaluation of grants awarded means that donors can be assured their charitable giving is getting to where it is really needed, and that it is making a difference.
